3 Worst Movies

Its been long time, I have written a blog. Either I am not getting time or I am not finding some real good topics to write something.

So let me start the blog flow again. I am going to mention 3 worst movies I have watched fully. It is solely based on my point of view and level of frustration I reached while watching that movie. There are few movies which I have stopped watching in between.

Number 3 #

Chalte Chalte (2003) Cast: Shahrukh Khan,Rani Mukherjee
In celebration of campus selection of his brother, Puneet sponsored this movie. We watched this movie in Raj Talkies, Gorakhpur. Barely in 10 minutes, I started countdown of when movie is going to finish. In next 5 minutes, I have reached at the level, where it has become unbearable .I could have left the movie in b/w that idea did not strike me. By the time it finished, I had decided that I wont watch shahrukh's movie again. I did not watch his movies next two year.

Number 2 #

Gayab (2004) Cast: Tushar Kapoor, Antara Mali
I watched this movie in Chennai when Adarsh, Kartik and Nitin went to take Mock CAT exam. Since I was not appearing in CAT I was getting bored. I decided to rent and watch a movie in my house owner's desktop. I don't know in which state of mind I chose this movie. Every scene was complete torture. By the time movie finished, I got severe headache. I had to take medicine and slept till morning.

Number 1 #

Kabhi Alvida Na Kahna(2006) Cast: AB, jr AB, SRK, Rani, Preity
With huge star-cast, I never imagined this movie would be a disaster. I traveled to Banglore to meet my friends, I watched this movie there. SRK acting was again painful. On top of that this movie was 3 and half hour long hence more excruciation.

This is list of 3 worst movies I have seen. There are more movies in the list but I mentioned only three. :).

A small get togather

Recently Shankar(my friend from CTS joining batch) came to Rhode island and then in april he came to visit NY and we met. IPL final was that day and I was frustated since Mumbai lost, we could not talk properly. I promised him to come to boston in near future.

I made plan to visit Boston on the weekend of May 15-16. The idea was to meet Brij, Subodh and call Shankar from Rhode island so that we can do a get togather. I communicated Brij about it. I tried to reach Shankar but surprisingly he was unreachable. I tried to call/leave voicemail/mail/chat but could not get it touch with him. Altough whole plan was for him since he was in US for short term, I decided to go ahead with plan.

I went to Brij place on Saturday evening and we talked a lot togather. Most of our talk was related to marriage specially How arranged marriages are more difficult than love marriages. We talked about our Cognizant training time as well.

Next day we call Subodh to come to Brij place to make it get togather atleast. After so many calls and senti dialogues, Subodh finally agreed to come. Finally he arrived and since he was only one married among us, He gave us lots of gyan about selecting a girl. It was fun.

Finally I started at 5 pm and reached home around 10 pm. Unfortunately we did not click a single pic togather.

Hold the Gold.

Lured by various advantages of forex trading, I entered in this market in last year. Neither I got bored of equities market, nor I had previous experience in forex, albeit I dived into this market. The main drive was forex market is open 24 hour. This gives me chance to earn some money while sitting idle at home.

I did study basic information about forex trading. Most of the sites strongly recommended that trade for at least 6 months in practice account before trading with your real hard earned money :). I did trade in practice acct for 6 full days then entered in real market.

First one and half month, everything seems to be cake walk. I earned profit around 3500 dollars. So much money was coming so easy that means something was wrong. Law of average came into play in next two months and 4000 dollars were lost. Then I realized why they say trade in practice acct for 6 months.

I purchased two lots of Gold in November, hoping that Gold prices never falls. Forex trading is always short term trading. It is advised to close your positions sooner than later. Also it is advised to put stop loss for every trade. I neglected both of thumb rules and did not put stop loss.

Just after I bought Gold something happened which resulted Gold prices to free fall. But I had decided that I will hold Gold untill it come into profit. There were two lots of Gold and one day loss of as much as 3000$. But since I have decided I hold my position in Gold. In last few weeks, due to Greece crisis, negative cues made Euro down so people started investing in Gold. Gold is coming up now and today I was in slight profit. I will take it out when profit will be considerable.

I came in profit after 6 months..My decision to Hold the Gold was not wrong. :)

Disappointing weekend...

Overall it was a disappointing weekend. Saturday morning, my cricket team lost a match. Second consecutive loss in the league. We did good bowling and restricted other team at 82. But some reckless batting cost us the game. Furthermore, I got run out on someone else fault. I was playing well before my dismissal.

Sunday, I was very excited for IPL final. Mumbai vs Chennai. I am big fan of sachin as well as Dhoni. But I would choose Sachin if I have to choose one. I was supporting Mumbai Indians all along. They have everything in their team this season. But those two dropped catches of Raina changed the course of the game. Mumbai changed their batting order which hurt themselves. They left too much to do for Pollard. I was very disappointed and frustrated after that defeat.

In my teenage, I used to get really frustrated after India's defeat. After a loss, I could hardly concentrate of studies for next two three days. Later I became matured, so I can come over it quickly. But after this defeat, I am back to my that phase.

Sunday evening, I went to play racket ball. I lost there too. The other guy was playing well. We played three games and all of them were close matches. I am writing this blog now and suffering from excruciating back pain. My mind and body both are hurting. Hopefully tomorrow and next week things will improve.

Forgot to post blog. Posting it on May 6. I was talking about 24-25 april weekend.

Finally Mumbai is in final !!!

Mumbai Indians are in final of IPL. finally.. whoos... The reason of my fondness towards Mumbai Indian team is presence of Sachin. I am big supporter of MI team from the IPL 2008. But they always disappointed me. Last two seasons, team did not make to Semis even once.

This season they looked completely different side from the word Go. Easily the best side in IPL this season by some distance. This shows that how a team will perform if it has in form Sachin in it. The way he has shown confidence in like of Rayudu and Tiwary, it is commendable. They responded well too.

It was almost the same side last year, which used to find a way to loose a close match. They transformed this year and won almost all close matches.

Today morning, I was nervous that one bad show and they might be out. Nothing of this sort happened... I am jubilant, thrilled and satisfied to see them in finals. Hope they win the final too. Aameen!!!!

Discussion Day....

Discussion/Debate is a method of interactive argument. Some people love doing discussions. My colleague Soham is very good at that . I generally don't get agitated in discussions. Its one good quality in me.

Today was sort of discussion day for me.While breakfast I was involved in discussion over divorce rate in India. Someone said it is 50% in Indian metro cities. I could not comprehend that. TOI reports 40% divorce rate in Mumbai. Personally I don't have much confidence in TOI anyway.

Discussion continued in lunch even after that. Sometimes we can defend, but we don't want to do it since your manager is against you. That's exactly happened today.

Then, after dinner among roommates we started again. Beauty of discussion is topic changes even before you realizes. So we debated over god, religion, human, animal and divorce. We also discussed few topics which can not be mentioned here. It continued until 2:10 AM. Now I should go to bed. I have to get up for IPL match b/w mumbai and banglore.

Photographic Memory - Study with Harry

While going through my old college pics, this one inspired me to write something.

I got a Yashika camera in semester break after 7th sem. Those time digital cameras were expensive and highly uncommon. After reaching college, we started taking pictures to secure memories in photographic format. To get natural pose, we used to avoid looking towards camera.

One day, I called Harry for a "studying" photo together. My room was mess but Harry's room was more mess. So finally my room was selected as venue. We used to do combined study at Harry's or Mayank's room which resulted discussion on various topics including girls hostel more often than not.

Thought of clicking snap makes people meticulous about their looks. Harry did combing which was a rare activity. He got his best t-shirt also. Many books were scattered in room to make it look like some studious guy's room. Alarm clock, which never had battery, was put on table. Harry got his computer science book to make it more natural pose. I got the thickest book I had.

Once everything was ready, we requested someone(I can not remember who it was) to click. Get set go and we have a proof that we did study in college.

Resolution

Resolutions are made to break. This fact is known to every creature, belongs to Homo Sapiens species. Still people like to make resolutions at high rate and keep breaking at even higher rate.

Phenomena of making new resolutions is catalyzed by another person's resolution. My roommate Sharaf made few resolutions in last few months and completed successfully(as he told me).

Personally I don't like to make resolutions since I can not keep them for long. If I make one, I deliberately make it close-ended. Like I will not eat chicken in next 48 hours.

I am making little serious and sincere resolution this time, I will post blog at least once in a week. When a celebrity like Amitabh Bachchan can write one blog per day with sheer consistency, Why can't I. So, its decided, Irrespective of whether I have some topic or not, I will write something. Hopefully I will continue......

Karachi se log....

Someone forwarded this video to me. Have a look at it, its really hilarious. You will surely have a smile on your face after watching this video. One pakistani reporter is trying to cover news that people from Karachi are going to their native place to celebrate Eid. He struggles with one sentence numerous times and gradually gets frustrated with people disturbance and starts abusing them. Don't fail to catch the accent in which he says the last word. "Karachi".

Lets see how good are you with this sentence :)

कराची से लोग अपनों में ईद मनाने के लिए अन्दरुने मुल्क जा रहे हैं. कैमरा मैन कामिल हुजूम के साथ चाँदनवाब, इंडस न्यूज़, कराची!

Ping Pong

Few weeks back, A team outing was planned to play Ping Pong. By name it may sound like some childish game, but it is another name of Table Tennis in United States. Usually like any other sport, I was excited towards playing. But the reality was, last time when I had TT bat in my hand was around 8 years ago. This event gave me chance to reminisce about my past TT affair.

There was no infrastructure for TT(read any sport except cricket which we played after bunking classes) till 12th class. In first year of engineering college, when we were sealed in Tagore Hostel, we had nothing but two TT Tables in hostel common room. Looking at few guys' amazing TT skills, I was intrigued towards this game.

Getting chance to play, is almost negligible considering number of people vs two TT tables. Luckily My roommate was selected as Common Room in-charge. As a result, he had common room key in his possession. We determined 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM timing to play, when no one is around. Though officially common room closing time was 11 PM, We used to take keys from his drawer and enjoy few hours of TT undisturbed. My skill level in TT improved from novice to average. :)

Next year, common room was far from my room and we did not have keys, so slowly I lost interest in TT. Also I spent more time in playing cricket. Last time I played TT is sometime in second year 2001 or 2002.

Back to outing, 4 tables were reserved in New York Ping Pong Association. I played my first match with a guy named Bruce. He was good at spinning the ball. I was playing after 8 years so I was finding it difficult to control the ball. He was leading 15-9 or something, but I came back and won that game. After that I won 5 out of 5 games. Quality of opposition was not excellent but not too bad either. Mohammad was best player out there, but somehow I won 2 matches against him. Score line was 21-19 for both. Usually I play better in tight situations.

It was a nice outing. Thanks to Nadeem. It reminded me about my TT passion in my college first year. Someone else was selected winner. But that was ok, since winner had to bring munchkins for everyone.
